Document Your Utilities

If a pipe broke in your business right now, do you know where the main water shutoff is? There are many business owners who do not take into consideration how much you can mitigate a loss by simply knowing your utility shutoff locations. That is why it is important to document where your utilities are. Since you are not always going to be onsite, be sure that other employees also know the locations. If you have never experienced a loss, documenting your utility shutoffs may not feel like a priority. With the amount of businesses that do not reopen after an extensive loss, be sure that you are prepared for whatever may happen. Extensive damage is costly and mitigation can be the difference between restoring and replacing.
