Sewer Backing Up into Unoccupied Property for 1-2 Weeks

This Unoccupied Property had a sewer that was backing up for a minimum of 1-2 weeks from a lower level toilet. This type of loss should be considered very dangerous because raw sewage contains bacteria and viruses that could cause serious illness or even death. Notice the floor covering in the bathroom was partial stone and partial carpet. Raw sewage seeped under the paneled walls, into the insulation and to the adjacent carpeted room. All carpet, paneling and insulation that were directly contaminated with the raw sewage were removed. The entire area was cleaned and disinfected to remove any harmful bacteria and viruses in contaminated materials. Special training and equipment is necessary to safely clean this type of contamination.
